Updates on our River Trips and Facilities

Greetings New River Family and Friends!

We hope everyone is staying safe and well and we are super excited about seeing you this coming Friday!

Due to social distancing guidelines and regulations as a result of COVID-19, our Shuttle Service will not currently be able to transport people, but we are still able to shuttle canoes, kayaks, and tubes for our 2.5 mile and 10 mile River Trips. (Please note: our 5 mile trip does not have on site parking at the put in point, so unfortunately we are unable to offer our 5 mile trip option at this time). Our customers will need to follow our shuttles to the put in point and we will be happy to work with you to retrieve your vehicle later. There should be adequate parking for everyone at the 2.5 mile and 10 mile river trip drop lots. Also, due to COVID-19, our playground and basketball court will remain closed until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated as we work towards solutions to accommodate everyone while still following government guidelines.

A safety reminder about hand sanitizer: Hand sanitizers contains alcohol, which is highly flammable, so be sure to use extra caution around campfires and open flames after immediate use.

An additional reminder guests: In order for New River Campground to remain open, we must adhere to the following Virginia Department of Health requirements. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping to keep all of our guests and staff safe!

Virginia Department of Health Phase 1 Reopening Guidelines:

a. A minimum of 20 feet must be maintained between units for all lots rented for short-term stays of less than 14 nights (and not owned by individuals).

b. Employees working in public-facing areas are required to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth at all times.

c. It is recommended that campgrounds must strongly encourage customers to wear face coverings over their nose and mouth.

d. The provision of hand washing in bath houses and sanitizing stations for guests and employees.

e. If any such business cannot adhere to these requirements, it must close.

We look forward to a fun-filled 2020 season and we'll see YOU on The New!
